Mortgage applications on an upswing – Mortgage applications increased 2.8% on a seasonally adjusted basis for the week ending June 9, while the previous week’s results included an adjustment for Memorial Day, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA’s) weekly mortgage applications survey.

What are the risks of buying a short sale or foreclosure? – I’m looking to buy a new home, and I’ve noticed that there are a couple of “short sale” and foreclosed homes in the area where I’m interested in living.
