Plastic Surgeon and Patient Use Mediation to Resolve Dispute over Botched Surgery

Tuesday, December, 18, 2018

Plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow has entered into mediation with a patient after she accused him of botching a plastic surgery procedure. According to Dr. Dubrow, he is being punished for doing a good deed.

Dr. Dubrow is being sued by the patient for $3 million and she has threatened to go public concerning the procedures he performed on her over a two year period if he does not meet her demands.

Someone familiar with the situation told British newspapers that the patient wanted to be on Dr. Dubrow’s plastic surgery reality show and have a previous botched surgery corrected. She cleared the necessary medical, psychological, and criminal background checks the show required.

Her botched surgery included more than five pounds of foreign materials that had been injected into her buttocks, which was removed prior to filming the show. The removal left her with destroyed muscle tissue, which made her a candidate to see Dr. Dubrow to have the problem fixed.

Dr. Dubrow corrected about 85 percent of the problem, but the patient was unhappy with the result and refused to show the outcome in the television show. The doctor further corrected the problem, but the patient defied his post-operative orders and lay on her bottom after surgery, splitting the wound open. She then allegedly refused treatment for wound care.

The patient filed a lawsuit against Dr. Dubrow and the two, along with their attorneys, are headed to mediation to see if they can reach a resolution outside of the courtroom.
