Legal Mediation Conference to be Held in Hong Kong

Wednesday, October, 26, 2011

Legal mediation will be one of the key topics at an upcoming international conference slated to cover both mediation and arbitration issues.  The Australasia Legal, Mediation and Arbitration Conference will be held in the Chinese city of Hong Kong in January 2012.  Important mediation attorneys from Australia are expected to attend, some of them leaders in their field.  They will provide conference attendees with the perspective from "down under" regarding the use of these alternative dispute resolution strategies.

The conference will last three days and will include workshops and seminars led by attorneys representing firms local to the area.  Attendees are expected to have opportunities both to learn new aspects of their craft and to begin to build professional networks that will serve them well in years to come.

Legal Mediation Expert Allan Myers to Speak

One prominent Australian expected to be in attendance is Allan Myers AO QC, who is currently a member of the bar in both Australia and the UK.  Myers will share his experiences as to how medication proceedings affect legal counsel.  Speaking on a similar topic will be Ian Lloyd QC, who is currently a member of the bar both in Australia and in Hong Kong in addition to serving as a judge for the Fiji Court of Appeals.

It is not known at this time if government mediation will be the focus of any of the seminars.
