Mediation Certification Courses Targeted to Workplace Needs

Mediation certification requirements vary by state, with many state-level governments only just now beginning to consider issues related to the proper licensure of mediation attorneys.  The private business community is ahead of the curve in this respect, with a variety of mediation certification training programs already available.  Many of these programs focus on the critical function that mediation attorneys can provide in the workplace.

Mediation Certification a Solution

It has long been understood that amicable resolution of workplace disputes is in the interest of all stakeholders from employee to management and also to investors in the enterprise.  Disputes that are allowed to fester can become blown out of proportion and result in formal grievances and litigation.  In extreme cases the dispute may even draw in government agencies that are tasked to guarantee certain elements of workplace safety or non-discrimination.

Workplace mediation certification courses equip mediation attorneys to resolve issues without bias and in a cost-effective manner that ideally leaves all parties satisfied and ready to be a productive member of the enterprise once again.  The U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service even cites this method of conflict resolution, saying that "Employers and employees are increasingly turning towards mediation to avoid costly and time-consuming litigation.  Mediation has been successfully applied to many types of workplace disputes, including grievances, EEO complaints, superior / subordinate problems, and peer conflicts."
