Cindy L. Anderson practiced employment law for over 30 years in a variety of capacities before becoming a full time neutral.   She has been mediating cases since 1995 in both the prelitigation and litigation stages of state and federal court. Mediator for FL DFS, 4th Circuit Foreclosure panel, FCRC Directory of Mediators, and Jax Mediation Center. She has been a chair, panelist, and sole arbitrator and mediator for the American Arbitration Association’s Panels for Employment, Consumer and Commercial Arbitrators and Mediators since 1993, a mediator and arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau, an arbitrator for NASD and FINRA, and is a certified Florida Civil Circuit court mediator and arbitrator.  She graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi University for Women in 1978 with a BA, and received her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida’s College of Law in 1981.  She is licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia, as well as Florida federal district and appellate courts. She is a member of the Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Section (previously chairing the FCHR Committee and the Individual Employment Rights Committee), and the Jacksonville Bar Association (previously chairing the Law and Disabled Committee and the ADR Section). 

Her experience includes Title VII,  ADEA, ADA, FLSA, Unemployment Compensation, the FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, USERRA, as well as worker’s compensation retaliation claims, state employment and antidiscrimination laws (FHRA), whistleblower statutes, and employment contract (restrictive covenants and non-compete clauses) and tort claims (privacy, defamation, etc).  Over the course of her career, she has conducted employment audits, led independent employment investigations, litigated employment cases, advised clients in preventing and handling the many employment issues confronting them, taught a graduate course in employment law at University of North Florida, mediated and arbitrated employment, tort, contract, construction, foreclosure and business law issues, provided employment law seminars for employers, and published articles in the Florida Bar Journal and Jacksonville Lawyer magazine.
