Edward Bergman is one of New Jersey's most experienced and highly regarded mediators. Mr. Bergman serves in various neutral capacities as mediator, arbitrator, discovery master, independent director and fiscal agent, both privately, and by court appointment, in both state and federal courts.
Mediation, Matrimonial and Estate Administration
Mr. Bergman began his career representing parties in civil litigation and matrimonial cases. He has negotiated and litigated various issues including corporate and partnership matters, contracts, employment disputes, probate matters, custody, equitable distribution, business valuations, alimony, and child support. His mediation practice includes family law matters. Mr. Bergman also represents a limited number of matrimonial clients and continues to be active in the administration of estates and the negotiation of contracts.

Mr. Bergman received a degree in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania and later graduated from the Columbia University School of Law.
Mr. Bergman teaches Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at the Wharton School of Business, Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics, University of Pennsylvania. He is a recipient of the 2010-2011 William G. Whitney Award for Undergraduate Teaching.
Mr. Bergman also serves as Founding Faculty and Principal Mediator of the Clinical Ethics Mediation Program at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently teaches the graduate seminar 'Challenging Clinical Ethics: Mediation of Healthcare Disputes in a Clinical Context' as well as Intensive Clinical Mediation Workshops. Mr. Bergman has also authored or co-authored articles and books in the dispute resolution field and has lectured worldwide on related subjects..
