Approach

Mediation necessarily requires an attitude on the part of the mediator(s) that both/all parties involved are a functional part of the dispute at hand (it ALWAYS takes at least "two"), that both/all parties have "right" on their side and that their perspectives are valid, and that all/both parties can benefit in many ways from ending the dispute - including among others, from relaxation of the stress of conflict, faster and MUCH less costly resolution to the issue(s) at hand through mediation rather than in open Court, and coming to a resolution from "within" rather than from "outside" by Judge or jury.

Fees

We consider our fees on a case-by-case, sliding-scale basis, ranging from "Free" when the parties simply cannot afford the services of a qualified mediator to resolve disputes that are seriously affecting their lives, to a standard private party fee of $150/hr paid be EACH (or all) of the parties, to a high of $300/hr paid by EACH party in the case of businesses and/or corporations. Except "pro bono" matters, ALL out-of-pocket expenses are billed at documented "cost", including (when applicable) travel, meals, hotel stay, mediation-space rental, copying, secretarial services, etc. We charge a flat $300/day fee if/when travel to and from a venue takes 4 or more hours in a single day. Generally we require half of the estimated total fees to be paid in advance.
