George Balko has been involved in civil litigation since 1982, first as a paralegal and then a law clerk during law school at an insurance defense firm and the finishing in his third year in a plaintiff personal injury and product liability firm. Since then, he has worked as a trial attorney in a variety of fields of law. He has handled both plaintiff and defendant sides of litigation.

In his career, Mr. Balko has emphasized seeking to settle cases in a mutually acceptable way. One of his strengths, both based on his own belief and based on numerous comments by other attorneys, is his ability to accurately judge the fair value of the case and work to reaching a settlement for that fair value. However, is not been afraid, if settlement is not possible, to take the case to trial. He understands the costs, risks, and emotional interests of parties in seeking final and fair resolution of their claims. Mr. Balko has acted as moderator in cases during his career. He has been suggested or requested to moderate cases by both plaintiff and defense attorneys.
