Mr. Fredman is a trial attorney with more than three decades of experience arguing complex business cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout California. An authority on both Internet and antitrust matters, Mr. Fredman’s areas of expertise also include the defense and prosecution of business contract and tort litigation, and cases related to real estate, trademarks, trade secrets, defamation, unfair competition, and Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP).
Mr. Fredman is a 1966 graduate of Princeton University. He received his law degree, cum laude, from Columbia University in 1969 where he distinguished himself for oral and written advocacy. Recently, he has been active as a mediator and in 2002 he was honored by the federal district court in Los Angeles for his service as an Attorney Settlement Officer.
Mr. Fredman has lectured to the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Southern California Business Litigation Inn of Court, the California Continuing Education of the Bar, and the Practicing Law Institute on subjects which include product liability, depositions, negotiation, antitrust, intellectual property litigation, and SLAPP cases. He was also a member of the editorial advisory board for California Causes of Action. Previously, Mr. Fredman was Counsel to Atlantic Richfield Company in its Major Litigation Unit, and he is a former partner of Frandzel & Share, Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Fredman is the Immediate Past President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) and has served on its Board of Governors for five years. He also served for a year on the Los Angeles County Bar Association's (LACBA) Board of Trustees, was former chair of LACBA's Antitrust Section and continues to sit on that Section's Executive Committee. He has been a member of both BHBA's and LACBA's delegations to the Conference of Delegates of California Bar Associations, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.
