I'm Joel Edelman, a Maui civil attorney with extensive experience. I also study, teach and practice mediation and counseling. My goal is to prevent or end your legal disputes in the most effective and satisfying way.
I have appeared twice before the U.S. Supreme Court, advised the LAPD on intelligence files and gangs, and been a prosecutor for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. I was an adjunct law professor at USC and Loyola Law School, a research scientist for the RAND Corporation think tank, served as legal advisor for many public and private organizations and a Board member for Aloha House on Maui. I've been around and I know how to get things done.
I started visiting Maui in 1965 and moved here in 1996. Since then, I've been advising, counseling, mediating and representing Maui residents and visitors. I help clients think outside the box; taking the whole picture into account to arrive at satisfying solutions. I take pride in vigorously pursuing and achieving the best outcomes for my clients.
With over 44 years of experience as an attorney, there's a good chance that I've dealt with a situation similar to the one you're facing.
