Mr. Dodd is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator and is a partner in the San Francisco law firm, Futterman Dupree Dodd Croley Maier LLP. He has practiced law for more than 32 years and has represented companies, individuals and various government agencies, focusing primarily upon commercial, closely-held business and employment disputes.   

He has mediated roughly 300 cases including: wrongful termination, employment discrimination, wage and hour and PAGA disputes; commercial, real property and construction disputes; misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition claims; building code and regulatory enforcement disputes; and attorneys’ fees disputes.   

Mr. Dodd is a member of the American Arbitration Association employment arbitration and mediation panels, the mediation and early neutral evaluation panels for the U. S. District Court, Northern District of California, the mediation panels for the California Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Districts and the Bar Association of San Francisco mediation panel.

Professional Participation

Outside the office, Martin is actively involved in the legal community. He is a member of the California State Bar’s Litigation, Labor and Employment, and Business Law sections.  From 2009-2011 he served as co-chair of the Litigation Section’s ADR Committee, which is devoted to educating attorneys and the public about the benefits of alternative dispute resolution and which provides a forum for discussion of ADR issues.  He is also a member of The Mediation Society.

Community Participation 

Martin is a member of The Board of Trustees of Palo Alto University.  He is also active in his synagogue, Congregation Beth El in Berkeley. He is a past president of the congregation and a former member of the board of directors, and a member of several committees. He has also served on the boards of Jewish Family and Children Services in the East Bay and Tehiyah Day School.
