Michael P. Kirschner brings over 48 years of legal practice and expertise. He specializes in bankruptcy law and represents corporate creditors, debtors, and trustees in reorganization efforts. His practice also includes commercial transactions, business and oil and gas litigation in state and federal courts.Mike earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1968 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law with highest honors and was second in his class.
As a law student, Mike was named Graduate of the Year by the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Phi Delta Phi fraternity for the Tenth Circuit; he was also the national chairman of the American Law Student Division of the American Bar Association's Medico-Legal Committee. Prior to law school, he graduated from OCU in 1964, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
Mike has been a practicing attorney in Oklahoma City for over 48 years. After law school, he spent 7 years working for Pierce, Mock, Duncan, Couch & Hendrickson. In 1973, and for approximately 23 years thereafter, he joined with John D. Hastie and others in the creation and growth of Hastie and Kirschner, an active and well-known commercial and real estate law firm in Oklahoma City. Thereafter, Mike formed and practiced with Hall, Estill, Horkovich, Golden, and Nelson out of the Hall-Estill Oklahoma City firm. He also practiced with Jim W. Lee in various titles, including Lee & Kirschner in Oklahoma City. More recently, Mike practiced with Robertson & Williams before he happily accepted the opportunity extended by Christensen Law Group in June 2016.
Mike is an active member of All Soul’s Episcopal Church having served the church as a lay reader, junior and senior warden, clerk of the vestry and chancellor of the Parrish. He has been an active member of the Oklahoma City Downtown Rotary Club 29 for more than twenty years. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Shirley Kirschner, who is the Executive Director of the Rotary Club 29, which is currently the largest Rotary Club in the world. They have two children and four grandsons. They also enjoy traveling and attending events around Oklahoma City.
