I am an experienced family law and divorce mediator. I also have mediated a number of estate disputes and business disputes for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Middlesex County. I believe my role as a mediator is to facilitate the settlement of cases. I don’t force my views of a case on any party. However, after practicing law in the family law field since 1975, I believe my experience and knowledge of what is fair and reasonable is exceptionally well-suited to getting you to “Yes” when you are negotiating what is the best for the most significant aspects of your future life.
Now, something about my experience. I am a former President of the Middlesex County Bar Association and I remain very active with the Middlesex County Bar Association, The New Jersey Association for Justice (formerly ATLA-NJ), the Monmouth Bar Association, and the New Jersey State Bar Association. I have been the chairperson of the Middlesex County Bar Association Family Law Section since July 2018. I am a collaborative divorce law trained attorney and a member of the collaborative divorce law practice group Collaborative Divorce Professionals of New Jersey. I am charter member of the Middlesex County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel. I am a co-chair of the New Jersey Association for Justice Matrimonial Law Section.
I graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 1974 where I served as an associate editor of the Law Review. I was admitted to practice in New Jersey (1974) as well as before the United States Supreme Court (1992).I have represented numerous clients on a pro bono basis over my years of practice as part of the Volunteer Attorney Panel for Central Jersey Legal Services..
I have written articles published in the New Jersey Family Lawyer, the principal publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section. I have been recognized by my peers every year from 2010 on as a New Jersey Super Lawyer in the field of family law. I have co-chaired the NJAJ Boardwalk Matrimonial Law seminars every year from 2012 through 2019, and the NJAJ Meadowlands Matrimonial Law seminar in 2013 and 2015. I have presented seminars on matrimonial and family law for both the New Jersey Association for Justice and the Middlesex County Bar Association.
After being a partner in a law firm in Middlesex County from 1980 to 2011, I joined the Manalapan, NJ law firm of Drescher & Cheslow, P.A., where I have continued my practice concentrating in divorce and family law, personal injury, workers compensation, civil litigation and mediation and arbitration. The breadth of my experience in a variety of legal areas that often coincide with the practice of family law gives me a great understanding of issues that may be involved in anyone’s case.
