He also regularly is engaged by insurance company clients to resolve coverage disputes and provide strategic advice in connection with product development and program creation.

Steve is a sought-after speaker in his areas of concentration and frequently gives lectures in the United States, London and throughout Europe for various state and national associations, professional organizations and universities, and the insurance industry. He has presented seminars on risk management, loss prevention, dispute resolution, litigation management, catastrophic response and insurance. Steve also has written and contributed to a number of articles and books, including one of the leading books in England on the topic of alternative dispute resolution.
At a time when professional liability insurance became difficult for many to attain, Steve helped form the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) to help insurers meet the needs of professionals across the United States. He also was involved in developing the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation and has served as general counsel to this program. In 1998, he received the Founder’s Award from PLUS in recognition of his contribution to the industry.
