Music Stars Use Mediation to Resolve Parenting Issues

Friday, September, 21, 2018

Music stars Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are using mediation to resolve their ongoing parenting issues concerning their three children.

The couple attended the mediation session with their attorneys in Los Angeles.  The session took place in the building that is home to their attorneys’ offices, so the event was convenient for everyone.

Stefani and Rossdale have been divorced since 2015 and are parents to three boys, ages 12, 10, and 4.   The two share legal custody of their children, which has been the arrangement since 2016 when their divorce was finalized.

The goal is that both parents will agree to co-parenting classes that will help them work out their issues and keep the environment healthy for their children.

Many divorcing or divorced couples use mediation to resolve parenting issues.  Even if the divorce process itself was contentious and needed to be litigated, mediation can make it easier on everyone to make important decisions about the lives of the children in the family.  It brings both parents together to discuss the issues affecting their children and allows them to make decisions that are in the best interest of the family’s most vulnerable members.

Mediation also adds an extra layer of protection for a family’s children because the mediator is able to keep the discussion focused on the child’s health and happiness.

It was reported that country star Blake Shelton, who has been dating Stefani since her split from Rossdale in 2015, was not in attendance at the mediation.
