Usually we will obtain information about our new client and their background, children, finances, assets, and reasons for a divorce at the initial conference.
When we prepare for mediation or maybe have our staff prepare a client for mediation what do we concentrate on?
Current status of:
Children
Job
Residence
Value of assets:
House- with current pay- off
Car with current balance
Retirement - years in the plan, plan administrator
Stocks, well maybe not,
Debts current and at time of separation
How are you getting along with you estranged spouse?
How is access working out and how has it varied fro temporary orders?
What issues are unresolved?
Are you ready to finalize your divorce?
After explaining the mediation process, what do you want to try to accomplish at mediation?
