Anne B. Miller, Esq. was admitted into practice in 1999 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate degrees from DePaul University. She then went on to earn a Certificate in Mediation in 2002, also from DePaul University. Licensed in Illinois, Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Indiana and District of Missouri, Anne has represented clients in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake and McHenry Counties during her years of practice.

Anne’s reputation is not based solely on experience; it’s based on a proven track record as a leader in her fields practice and in obtaining positive results for her clients.

Anne’s successes in her professional practice are many. In the area of corporate bankruptcy, reorganizations and wind downs, Anne is a recognized expert, with extensive experience, in all aspects of fiduciary services, including complex claims reconciliation and preference and fraudulent conveyance analysis, with specific expertise in resolving tax and medical provider claims.

Notably, Anne has managed the claims reconciliation process for a large New York hospital, as well as a national supermarket chain.  Her avoidance action experience includes successfully negotiating the resolution of numerous actions for an auto industry manufacturer, a national airline and a grocery store chain.

Anne is the past Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Central States Bankruptcy Workshop Advisory Board. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and a member of the Trusts and Estates Section.

Anne’s prominence in her professional life is mirrored in her civic involvement. For the last nineteen years, Anne has been an elected member of Community School District 300 in Illinois, serving as its President since 2013. The district is the 6th largest in the state of Illinois, with 27 schools, 21,000 students and a $200M budget. Since 2005, Anne has served on the Board of Directors of JourneyCare Hospice, a not-for-profit agency, including terms as Secretary, Vice-Chair and Chair. JourneyCare recently merged with Horizons Hospice and Midwest Hospice and Palliative Care forming one of the country’s largest non-profit hospices

Anne is a member of the Illinois Association of School Boards, National Association of School Boards, and is coordinator for the McHenry County Peer Jury Program, a youth court program based on the principles of balanced and restorative justice.

Mediation

Anne Miller acts as either a court appointed mediator or as an independently chosen mediator. Mediation is the cooperative process for resolving conflict with the assistance of a trained, neutral third party, whose role is to facilitate communication, to help define issues and to assist the parties in identifying and negotiating fair solutions that are mutually agreeable.  The goal of mediation is to help parties reach an agreeable resolution to a conflict without the cost, time or uncertainty of litigation. Since completing her training in 2002, Anne has mediated hundreds of disputes over a wide area of topics to successful resolution.
