Leslie M. Carlet

After a long and distinguished career with two large top ten employee benefit consulting firms, Ms. Carlet founded American Benefit Partners, Inc. Her mission was to utilize her expertise in Employee Benefits Consulting and Management to work with fewer, select clients who value personalized service and practical no nonsense consultation in their efforts to provide excellent employee benefits to their employees.

Ms. Carlet has 25+ years of experience working with large national and regional companies and municipalities to bring economic and intangible value to their HR and Benefits Departments.
Prior to founding American Benefit Partners, Inc., Ms. Carlet served as Vice President of USI Florida's Custom Benefits Division. 

USI is one of the country’s largest employee benefit consulting and insurance firms with over 3500 employees serving 80 major markets throughout the world. In this capacity, she was responsible for the development and retention of a $60 million revenue stream consisting of over 300 clients and 16 staff. By developing systematic, proactive implementation and service models, Ms. Carlet was responsible for 55% top line and 30% bottom line growth in the division during her 4-year tenure. Client retention consistently exceeded corporate goals and Ms. Carlet was honored several times by her superiors for her dedication and commitment to her team.

At USI, her clients included Jet Aviation, The City of Boca Raton, and Boca Raton Community Hospital. Prior to joining USI, Ms. Carlet began her career serving in operations for the Haagen-Dazs Corporation. Her responsibilities included all aspects of running a national distribution, marketing and retail operation. In 1993, she became an Employee Benefits Specialist for a local South Florida Engineering firm with a complete range of employee benefits including self-funded medical. From this position she was recruited by Aon Consulting to work on Aon’s large, South Florida client base. Here she worked on accounts such as Broward Sheriff’s Office, Broward County and Miami Children’s Hospital.

In 1996, she was recruited by a national, public entity, Renex Corporation. Renex operated Dialysis centers throughout the country and was headquartered in Miami. From Renex, Ms. Carlet was recruited to USI’s Boca Raton Office where she began as an Employee Benefits Specialist. At USI, she worked her way up through the ranks becoming the Vice President of the Custom Benefits Division responsible for over 300 clients, and a staff of 16.

Ms. Carlet has received her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and SHRM-SCP. She holds a Florida State Health and Life License. Ms. Carlet has served on the board of the YMCA of South Palm Beach County, the Greater Miami Society for Human Resource Management (GMSHRM), and currently serves as the chair of the YMCA's Boca Raton Togetherhood Committee.  Ms. Carlet graduated with a BA from the University of Delaware.
