Angel M. Traub is a civil litigation attorney and principal owner of A. Traub & Associates in Lombard, Illinois. She graduated in 1998 from Northern Illinois University with her BA,
summa cum laude, University Honors, Presidential Academic Awardee with a major in Corporate Communication and minor in Spanish. She was also awarded the Outstanding Woman Student Award and Outstanding Communication Major Award in 1998.
In 2001 she graduated from The John Marshall Law School with a JD, cum laude. She was selected as a John Marshall Distinguished Scholar, and was a member of the Order of John Marshall, Honorary Scholarship Society. She served as a member of The John Marshall Law Review, 1999 to 2001. In the Fall of 2000 she was published in The John Marshall Law Review, article titled The Wall is Down, Now We Build More: The Exclusionary Effects of Gated Communities Demand Stricter Burdens Under the FHA. She participated in the National Mock Trial Competition (NTC) in 2001, and is a regional winner of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) Trial Advocacy Competition in 2000. She also served as an intern for Honorable Ronald Guzman, Federal District Court, Northern District of Illinois in 2000. She was admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois in 2001.
She practices in many forms of Civil Litigation, primarily in the area of Family Law and Estate Administration and Guardianship. She is qualified as a Guardian ad litem for disabled children and adult guardianships, as well as a Guardian ad litem children in Family law, Divorce and Custody, and in adoption. She also practices in Estate Planning and Probate, Contested Estates, and Real Estate Litigation.
Currently Angel M. Traub is a Past-President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, 2007-2008. She is also an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association, and served on the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2012. She also currently serves as Chair of the Judge’s Night Committee, 2009 to present; Family Law Committee, Co-Chair, 2012 and Membership Committee Chair, 2007. She was a member of the Judiciary Committee, 2009-2011, and Diversity, Membership, Entertainment, and Lawyer Referral Services Committees. As a member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association she served on the Suburban Bar Coalition Judiciary Committee, 2012. She is a recipient of the DCBA Board of Director’s Award 2009/2010 and 2011/2012. She is a recipient of the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation Pro Bono Service Award 2009/2010 and 2011. She is a committed participant in the DCBA’s annual Judge’s Nite production, and is Producer of the show 2009 to present. She is a member of the American Inns of Court, DuPage County Chapter, 2007 to present, and served as Team Leader 2008-2010. She is a former board member of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyer’s Foundation and Scholarship Committee. She is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, a fellow of the ISBA Foundation and serves on the The John Marshall Law School Alumni Committee and Mentor Program. She also actively assists as an attorney for DuPage County Family Law Night Court, and as a Court Facilitator in Rolling Meadows, Cook County.
Angel is trained and certified in both Divorce Family and Custody Mediation and Family Collaborative Law. She has attended and presented at several continuing legal education seminars in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, contested estates, GAL training, guardianship, family law, divorce, contested child custody, and participated in advanced masters courses in Child Representation, Negotiation, Mediation, and Trial Advocacy.
