With broad experience in both the private and public sectors including 23 years as President of Bennett Farms, Inc., 10 years as an elected official, and 23 years as a MN Rule 114 Mediator, Al Bennett brings “tools” from the workplace to the field of business consulting.
Al was born and raised on a family farm in southern Minnesota that expanded into a 1000-acre cash grain corporation under his leadership. In 1995, Al was elected to represent District 4 in Blue Earth County on the Board of Commissioners. He served for ten years in that capacity before resigning in July 2004 to pursue another business opportunity. Before joining the Compeer Financial team in November of 2006, Al worked as a mediator with the University of Minnesota Extension Farmer-Lender Mediation Program. His work focused on farm families that were in conflict and/or had defaulted on a secured debt.
In 2012, Al completed requirements of a Certified Financial Planner™ which has brought additional value to clients and professionals he collaborates with.
Al client’s today are typically family farms of all sizes that are engaged in a succession process, growth, re-structure, or seeking to be “best-in-class”.
Currently, as a member of the Consulting Team at Ascent Financial, Al describes his work as: “Simply holding the light for others as they work through change.”
